Covid 19 Safety for Visitors
In light of the recent Covid-19 pandemic we have made some important amendments to the cleaning of our cottages to ensure that the safety of our guests and cleaners is protected to the best of our ability at all times. Cleanliness has always been incredibly important to us, but we outline here the additional steps we are taking to ensure that we do everything we can to protect visitors and reduce the risk of infection.
Owing to the need to carry out an effective deep clean each week, we may ask visitors to adjust their departure/arrival times so that this can be carried out.
Safety of our cleaners
Our cleaners will be provided with adequate PPE including masks, gloves and aprons, and will have hand sanitiser available as well as frequently washing their hands during the changeover of the cottages. Where more than one cleaner is needed to complete the changeover, we will ensure that social distancing is maintained.
Cleaning Materials & Equipment
Most household disinfectants have been proven to be effective against Covid-19. We will ensure that all cleaning materials used contain a minimum of 70% alcohol.
All cleaning cloths, mops and towels will be fully laundered or disposed of after each clean to prevent contamination.
Bedding & Linen
All used bedding and linen will be bagged up immediately our cleaners arrive and removed from the property prior to cleaning. Our cleaners will wear the appropriate gloves for this, and will then wear a new pair of clean gloves to put the new bedding and towels in place for the next guests.
Pillow and mattress protectors will be fully laundered between guests in addition to all the bedlinen itself.
As cleaners are not advised to visit the property while guests are staying, if your stay is more than 7 nights we will arrange for clean bedding and towels to be dropped off for you and ask that you bag up used bedding and towels for us to collect.
High use areas /Equipment
Additional attention when cleaning will be paid to high use areas such as:
Books/Toys /Games/Sports items
Toilets, taps, sinks
Bins (including outside)
Mops /dustpans & brushes
Some items may have to be removed from the cottages if we feel it is not possible to fully clean and disinfect them between guests.
To allow for social distancing we have installed key safes rather than handing out keys in person as in the past.
Visitor Information Packs
Our Visitor Information packs are now emailed to visitors in advance of their visit, rather than being available in the properties as in the past, again to prevent the possibility of infection.
Should any emergency maintenance be required during your stay, we would ensure that any contractors wear the appropriate PPE and adhere to social distancing measures at all times.
Exterior, and shared areas of our gardens
All exterior doors and door handles to the properties will be cleaned at each change-over.
Exterior gates and handles (Coach House and Institute only; no gates at Old Church) will be disinfected by our cleaners at each change-over.
All three of our cottages have their own gardens with tables, chairs, and BBQ. These will be fully cleaned as per the insides of the properties, and all gate handles will be disinfected at each change-over.
All-weather tennis court
This is shared between visitors, and here we will disinfect the door/gate handles on each change-over, and leave a bottle of hand sanitiser next to the door/gate for guests use during their stay. We ask that everyone uses this prior to entry to the court. We also ask that guests bring their own rackets and balls.
The lounger chairs around the platform will be disinfected at weekly change-overs, and we will leave hand sanitiser by the platform for visitors use during their stay.
The Sunken Lawn
This is available for informal games such a football. There are no gates here, so access is safe. However, we ask that visitors only use the lawn if no visitors from other cottages are present, and, if necessary, agree informally times of access with visitors from other cottages. Again, we also ask that visitors bring their own sports equipment to avoid infection.
