  We have stayed at the Coach House numerous times over the years and it's a firm favourite to keep coming back to.
  
  It provides a warm, comfortable and spacious base to explore Kielder water, the observatory, local villages such as Falstone and Bellingham along with places further afield such as Cragside, Hexham and Alnwick.
  
  We have gotten to know the owners over the years and they are welcoming, friendly and passionate about ensuring their guests have a wonderful stay.

  The Coach House offers immense character, comfort and a beautiful location, a few miles from Kielder Water and Forest in what for the UK, is a remote corner of Northumberland. The lovely owners are close by, supportive but not intrusive and the house provides space for up to 6 people. Huge walled garden ideal for the most active of dogs. The nearest shops and eateries are a couple of miles, although we went further afield to eat. Bouchon Bistro in Hexham is a must and Bewicks in Rothbury if you venture to Cragside (NT). Walking/cycling locally, sailing on Kielder Water and within easy reach of Hadrian's Wall and a little longer to the coast - Bamburgh is a must, fabulous beach and castle... or you can just chill with a wide range of books and games and the internet works well. The road can be a little noisy but isn't intrusive.

  We found the house was easy to make our home for a week. We all slept well, lovely bed linen and comfortable beds.
  We especially appreciated the laundry room with drying rack and warmed clothing area.
  The kitchen was well equipped.
  The area was full of wonderful meadows and sights, a fantastic county.

  We had a short 2 night stay at the Coach House in September. I have had an extremely busy year and needed somewhere comfortable where I could rest, get away from it all, and get some fresh air. We found somewhere which ticks all of those boxes, but we hadn't expected it to be quite so homely. From the moment we arrived we could feel a sense of peace and relaxation, and it didn't take us long to settle in. Rather than do our normal thing of setting off somewhere and exploring, we settled in for the day, had dinner, and curled up on the sofa in front of the log fire. Everything you need is here, from a well equipped kitchen, plenty of logs, Netflix on the TV, and a walled garden for the dog. We can see ourselves coming back.

  I cannot speak highly enough of this property. We booked The Coach House, along with The Old Church, for a weekend of birthday celebrations for the family. The Coach House itself was fantastic, a great house with plenty of space for the people staying there and a really well equipped set up for eating, relaxing, cooking and activities.
  
  The kids enjoyed the garden in particular - a huge area to the rear of the property where we were able to enjoy a morning playing games and then relaxing in a very idyllic setting. The location of the property is also great - remote enough to feel private and removed from the general hustle and bustle, but close enough to home that we didn't have to drive for hours and close to smaller villages/towns for supplies. We were also able to find some nice walks for people to do while we were there.
  
  The bedrooms were very comfortable - good storage and space - and with a good balance of bedrooms and bathrooms that there wasn't ever a queue. There is a great array of books and DVDs in the communal areas which would be great if the weather wasn't great or if we had booked at a different time of year.
  
  The fit out looks high quality and it's clear that there has been a lot of thought put into the look and feel and design of the space to make it feel like a home from home. Highly recommended and we will be back

  The Coach House proved to be the perfect base for a Northumberland break. The scenery all around is beautiful and the house offers wonderful views across the fields and towards the nearby hills. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable, bright and cheerful even on cloudy days. Every comfort has been carefully considered and the house is perfect for relaxing after a busy day walking or exploring the beautiful area. There are good nearby restaurants and the garden would be perfect for eating outdoors on sunny days. Perfect for families, couples and friends - we took grandchildren. We will definitely be returning.

  The Old Coach House is a beautiful and much loved holiday home. In fact, it’s a home from home! Stunning views with an abundance of wildlife. Every room was furnished to a very high standard and with wonderful antique furniture. Plenty of wood to make a fire which added to the ambiance of the house. Amazingly comfortable beds, pillows and duvet’s which ensured a good night’s sleep. So important after a long day walking along Hadrians Wall. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything that you needed. All spotless and clean. Plenty of room for your own things and the bonus of an awesome utility room. The hosts, Anne and Bill were lovely and the welcome food package was a real treat. Anne was always there if you needed anything and gave lots of advice on things to do and places to visit. The Pheasant Inn at Stannesburn (5 minutes up the road) is a must for a fabulous meal. We couldn’t fault anything here and highly recommend The Old Coach House for a great family holiday.

  We had a wonderful stay at the Coach House it was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated and furnished. It was obvious that much thought had gone into the creation of this lovely place to stay. It exudes elegance and comfort. There was a lovely welcome pack, which really helpfully had essentials of milk, tea, coffee and wine ! The large garden was wonderful for relaxing and perfect for our dog to race around! It is close to a road which can be busy at times but the delights of the property far outweighed this. Being a Dark Sky area meant we had some fabulous star gazing and appreciated the sounds of owls and night animals. While you do need to walk on the road to join a footpath, the road has good visibility and mostly wide verges. You can also access the river directly onto a private stretch through the wood opposite and down the bank. The host’s welcome was second to none. It feels like Anne takes pleasure in your enjoyment of the Coach House and any issue however minor was sorted immediately. We loved our stay, would definitely stay again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.

  Had a lovely relaxing stay at this property The owners are very welcoming and helpful The coach house is very spacious and our grandchildren loved the large enclosed garden . Ideal for visiting Keilder and the surrounding countryside. Bird of prey Centre at Keilder was amazing, well worth a trip. Would recommend the Cheviot and the Fountain cottage cafe in Bellingham.   Extremely high quality premises, very well-equipped and furnished to a high standard. Received a very warm welcome from the property owners who live adjacent. Good central location with easy access (with sat-nav) to Roman forts/museums, castles and the coast eg Lindisfarne. Set in the rolling hills of Northumberland, an area not sufficient known about.

The setting is stunning with a safe walled garden for the dogs to play, all set in the beautiful Northumberland national park. Close to facilities in Bellingham & near to all the many visitor sites.   We loved staying in this stunning area. As hoped, we were able to walk a section of Hadrian’s wall, cycle at Kielder, visit Vindolanda, Hexham and Alnwick, and go to the coast. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. The garden is lovely too and a longer stay would have allowed us to make more use of it. We were grateful for the detailed notes provided.

  Set in a fabulous walled garden and with amazing views of surrounding countryside, we couldn’t have asked for a nicer holiday venue. The Coach House is so warm and welcoming with all the facilities one could hope for. The lounge has big comfy sofas and a wood-burning stove. The dining room is a delight and gives access to the garden. The kitchen/diner is fully provided with all services incl a range cooker. The utility room is fabulous with a washer, dryer, lovely old fashioned airier. The downstairs shower room/wc and the upstairs bathroom (with shower over the bath) are ideal. Our hostess was very welcoming and kindly shared the Dark Skies viewing platform in the Rectory garden. We had two great clear nights for observations and photography. We also found it a great base for days out at Kielder, Rothbury and the Woodhorn Colliery museum. Highly recommended!

The Coach House is probably the most luxurious, cosy and well equipped cottage we have stayed in and is a credit to the very friendly, helpful and welcoming owners. We couldn’t fault anything.   The cottage represented one of the best we have ever stayed in. The online information provided all the necessary information, and the follow-up emails informed us about our upcoming holiday and reminded us to make contact with the landlady. The initial contact with the landlady was warm and efficient, and she was present on arrival to show us the cottage and give us all the relevant information to fully enjoy the cottage. The cottage was fully equipped to a high standard leaving us with no recommendations to make it a better experience. We are definitely going back in the near future.

  The description of the house was very good along with the pictures, we were not disappointed in our expectations, in fact, the house was better because the furnishings were of very high quality and we felt very privileged to be able to stay in such grandeur. The garden being fully enclosed with a stone wall, was superb with wonderful views of the fells, we saw stunning and varied skies with gorgeous dawn and sunsets. Our hosts were lovely and very welcoming and hospitable, nothing was too much trouble and we were encouraged to pick fruit from the many fruit trees in the garden which made bountiful fruit pies. Kielder Park was a wonderful place to visit to get the best fresh air, the lake looked stunning, the forest walks suitable for buggies and wheelchairs and the Visitor Centre offered a comfortable place to sit whilst enjoying freshly baked cakes with a pot of tea or coffee overlooking the lake. This was first time to this part of the COuntry and will definitely go back as a stargazer, spectacular. The only disappointment was only being there for one week.

  This cottage just oozed character. From the comfy lounge with log fire and bureau, the spacious formal dining room complete with suitably chunky furnishings, the scatter rugs and massive king size bed in the main room and the warm and inviting kitchen - this cottage wraps its arms around you from the start! The owners live next door - close enough to call on if you need anything (like local information) but not so close that you feel invaded. I will be back to this lovely part of the country and if this cottage is available I will certainly book it again.

  The Coach House was all that it said, and more. We really can't stress how beautiful the house and location, and how helpful and pleasant the owners were. The house was full of charming features, was old world yet with modern facilities. No expense had been spared, from ultra modern shower room and Aga, to antique furniture and numerous paintings. The garden was a delight to behold, perfect for us to enjoy, yet totally enclosed to allow dogs and children to roam unattended. I could go on, but suffice to say that this cottage is perfect, warm, dry and welcoming.

  From the moment we opened the door to this beautiful home to the time we closed it, we felt as though we were at home. The owner of the cottage had ensured it was warm and welcoming and was friendly and non intrusive throughout our stay. My sons who live in Newcastle and Scotland are unable to visit us at our home in Sussex very often and do not spend time together due to work commitments, this lovely house opened its doors to us all and we spent many evenings round the log fire together. Unlike many holiday homes, where it is obvious the owner has filled the rooms with utilitarian furniture and fittings, this lovely coach house had things that 'fitted'it was charming and we fell in love with it. Especially the Queen bed.We took some lovely photos from the kitchen window and now I want to go back.
